Consultancy

We provide arboricultural surveys and reports for planning applications as well as tree hazard evaluation reports.

Planning Applications and Arboricultural Implication Assessments

Our surveys are carried out and compliant to British Standard 5837. We work closely with architects and developers to help manage trees at all stages of the development process, to advise on protecting existing trees and the planting of new specimens making sure the finished build sits well in the landscape. By consulting with us early in the planning stage we can identify potential problems before an application is submitted and help avoid any conflict with the local authority.

Tree Hazard Evaluation Reports

We provide reports for tree owners and managers on the overall condition and safety of their tree stock - these may be required by your insurer or you may simply wish to have the peace of mind that a professional report backed up by extensive indemnity cover provides. Either way if you are responsible for trees which border public land, or that of a neighbouring land owner, part of your duty of care under the Occupiers Liability (Scotland) act of 1960 requires that your trees are maintained in good condition. Landowners have been successfully sued for failing to meet this duty of care: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1489072.stm

Commissioning a professional report and acting on its findings will honour this duty and help prevent any costly court proceedings.
